I've climbed almost to the tops of these walls but having a fear of heights I let Howard go the rest of the way by himself!  I did not really know the history of the castle and there are no plaques to tell about it there so I googled the above information this morning.  Down below the castle is a market with barrels and barrels of spices, dried fruits, dried legumes, etc.  There are also good restaurants down there, but by the time we finished at the Museum below I was too tired to walk back up.  Next time.
